A busy schedule and computer problems at work has forced me to do blogging on the weekends. Expect a lot more from me during this time.

Remember when the Nobel Peace Prize used to be given to those who actually made peace? Unfortunately, since World War II our definition of peace has become broader and broader that it means an absence of war.
Today: Roh says his North Korea policy focused on prevention of war
South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun said Tuesday that the top priority in his security policy is to prevent a war on the Korean Peninsula by continuing to engage North Korea.
In his special New Year address broadcast live across the nation, the president said he will not give up pursuing a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-il as part of the policy of engagement with the North.
Hopefully, the Nobel Committee does not recognize copycats.
It appears the French have used their sneaky ways for good
PARIS, Jan. 21 (Yonhap) — A French television on Sunday broadcast a program in which one of its reporters secretly taped the dire livelihoods of ordinary North Korean people.
The reporter could enter the communist country on the pretext of accompanying the French civic organization Premiere Urgence, whose officials visited Pyongyang recently to support hospitals there, the network M6 said.
Most of the program, titled “North Korea, the Hell of Daily Life,” was secretly recorded, M6 said.
M6 reported one-third of the North Korean people live on handouts from outside the country.
Here is the synopsis (French). I will be spending the week searching for the clip.
