Unpimp The Site

Posted by S.K.

If you see weird problems with the site, it’s me, not you. I am currently doing some code restructuring, which is like reforming the federal tax code. Unlike the tax code, since I’m the only one in charge here this will be doable.

Update: The stuff you can see is mostly complete, now to trim the fat.

Update #2: Never mind. It’s a bit more than that.

Foreign Policy in Focus examines the North Korean propaganda films and how it is a reflection of what North Korea is today. Combining western film-making and revisionist history, North Korean films not only carry messages, but shape ones behavior. This help explains why some defectors still harbor sympathy towards the regime that they left.

I recommend reading the whole thing.

Gas Explosion Kills Over 100

According to Good Friends, a massive gas line explosion engulfs residents gathering leaking gasoline in flames

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) – About 110 people were killed this month in North Korea when gasoline leaking from a dilapidated pipeline exploded in a rural area of the Communist country, a South Korean aid group said Tuesday.

The Seoul-based organization Good Friends said in a newsletter that the blast occurred June 9 in North Pyongan province, which borders China.

The group said the accident happened in rice paddies in Sonchon county. That area is about 68 miles northwest of the capital of Pyongyang.

Good Lord. Who needs a nuclear program when there are leaky gas lines?
