This is the biggest celebrity endorsement of our cause we are going to get

Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul & Mary has written a protest song about a Japanese schoolgirl abducted by North Korean agents in 1977.

Stookey, 69, sang ‘Song for Megumi’ _ the title track of his new album _ at a performance Tuesday attended by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Megumi Yokota’s parents, Shigeru and Sakie Yokota.

Some of the lyrics are in Japanese. ‘Anata wa doko? (Where are you?),’ Stookey sang at the performance, televised by public broadcaster NHK.

Asahi News Interviews Escaped Guards

Posted by S.K.

Japanese news station Asahi manages to send a crew over to China to interview two recently escaped North Korean border guards. It reveal a good amount of information on the North Korean guards. The guards turn out to be more corrupt than previously thought. It does not cost much to bribe a border guard. It also reveals that North Korean people for the most part have abandoned socialism. Capitalism is pretty simple to achieve, since it’s just an absence of government intervention. Overall, I think it is good news for people trying to get out the country. Unfortunately, China remains the biggest obstacle for any refugee.

Note: DailyNK already has a video of the interview. I will try to find my own version online and post it here.

Never let it be known that Chinese people aren’t funny people

Chinese netizens have produced a satirical clip in response to the U.N.’s North Korea sanctions on luxury goods.

The clip initially uploaded on a Chinese public website last November, 6room.com has already attracted more than 300,000 viewers. The creator Huge also posted the light-hearted satire on “YouTube” where is gaining much interest worldwide.

It’s a 4 part video, Sky King Cover Ground Tiger!

Part story teenager trying to get alcohol, part Michael Jackson video.

Ahimsa = Non-violence. Gotta love those Chinese-English Dictionaries.

Happy ending though. The “King” dies because of Chinese knock-offs.
